Message from Governor Wolf

  • Face coverings are required while:
    • An individual is outdoors and unable to maintain a safe distance of six feet;
    • An individual is indoors at a location with other members of the public;
    • An individual is waiting for, riding in, driving or operating any public transportation service, a taxi, private car service or a ride-sharing vehicle;
    • An individual is obtaining a service from the healthcare industry – e.g. a hospital, pharmacy, medical clinic, laboratory, physician or dental office, veterinary clinic, or blood bank;
    • An individual is at the workplace or working at an off-site location and interacting with other individuals (both co-workers and members of the general public).
  • Face coverings are NOT required for:
    • An individual with a medical condition;
    • An individual is put in harms way by wearing a mask while performing their job;
    • An individual who cannot remove a mask without assistance;
    • An individual under two years old;
    • An individual who is communicating with another individual with a hearing-impairment or has another disability in which looking at a person’s mouth is essential.
      • Individuals within the above categories do not have to show documentation as to why wearing a mask is not required.
